The IUCN Secretariat has initiated a number of fundraising approaches throughout the year some of them in collaboration with the SSC.

After an extensive consultation, a compelling value proposition, tailored on the specific target audiences has been developed and tested. Work done to define budget architecture, develop the prospect donor pipeline and engagement strategy.
Secured 1,5 M CHF from a Swiss Based Foundation, 150K CHF from a Swiss Based foundation and 600K from a EU Based Foundation are to be confirmed by end of Sept 23. GEF grant fund secured. At least 3 other deals under negotiation
For States and other public entities, the focus will be on the pivotal role IUCN Data and Knowledge plays in measuring both the baseline and the progress vs the newly adopted Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
