Education/Communication/Raising awarenessLast year Kolmarden Foundation was able to reach and engage 760 138 guest at Kolmarden Wildlife Park, of which a big part was children and teenagers. Through exciting and informative presentations Kolmarden Foundations message was delivered every day. Kolmarden Foundation also dedicated different days to different species, for example a day for the mexican macaw and a week for the amur tigers. By doing this we could focus our education on certain species, and bring attention to different species and habitats in a better way. On-going
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken:
It is difficult to evaluate the impact that has been done on the children that have taken part in our education, but from personal observations we can see that children often are intrerested in learing more abour the wildlife on our planet after visting Kolmarden.
What challenges have you encountered in implementing this Resolution and what measures have you taken to overcome them?:
We could definitly make use of an evaluation system, to see what children has taken home with them and where we could improve. This is nothing we have done yet, but would be really great to implement.
Identify and briefly describe what future actions are planned for the implementation of this Resolution:
Future ActionDescription
Education/Communication/Raising awarenessWe always strive to engage more people, especially children, and are always thinking of new exciting ways of doing this. For example we want to have more dedicated days for species, and try to cover all kinds of different species - birds, marine mammals, anthelopes, small carnivores etc.
