Description and results/achievements of activities:
In 2022, WPSI made significant contributions to wildlife conservation and combatting wildlife crime in India. We provided crucial assistance and information to regional enforcement agencies, resulting in the registration of 24 wildlife crime cases and the apprehension of 67 alleged wildlife criminals. Through 11 specialized law enforcement workshops, we also enhanced the capacity of 710 forest department personnel. Our efforts extended beyond enforcement, as we actively gathered information, conducted community outreach, and conducted field inquiries to increase awareness and understanding of wildlife crime, its trends, and hotspots.
