The goal was to spread awareness of Res 125's CTA #1...recognizing the science that calls for protecting HALF...and focus as a stepping stone the Res 125 CTA#2 and assure inclusion of the 30x30 goal in the outcomes of the COPS The Resolution: CTA #2.. to support, at a minimum, a target of effectively and equitably protecting and conserving at least 30% of terrestrial areas and of inland waters...etc.. and of coastal and marine areas, respectively, with a focus on sites of particular importance for biodiversity, in well-connected systems of protected areas and other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs) by 2030 in the post-2020 global biodiversity framework; On-going

Results summary:

COP27 -- The COP achieved a united pledge by 112 nations (High Ambition Coalition) to support 30x30

COP 15 -- Of the global targets agreed by some 190 nations:
Effective conservation and management of at least 30% of the world’s lands, inland waters, coastal areas and oceans, with emphasis on areas of particular importance for biodiversity and ecosystem functioning and services. The GBF prioritizes ecologically-representative, well-connected and equitably-governed systems of protected areas and other effective area-based conservation, recognizing indigenous and traditional territories and practices. Have restoration completed or underway on at least 30% of degraded terrestrial, inland waters, and coastal and marine ecosystems. Reduce to near zero the loss of areas of high biodiversity importance,including ecosystems of high ecological integrity.

What challenges have you encountered in implementing this Resolution and what measures have you taken to overcome them?: 
Regarding CTA #1, calling on IUCN to fully communicate the recognized science of the need to protect HALF...little to no action on IUCN DG or Secretariat on this. We're working on it!

Policy influencing/advocacyThe coalition continues to work towards future implementation of CTA#1 that recognizes the science of protecting HALF, and CTA#3 , to prioritise support for the full and effective participation of indigenous peoples and the implementation of all protection, conservation and restoration activities..etc…as set out under the UNDRIP, and full respect for their diverse knowledge systems;
