In South-East Asia, the initiatives is still struggling to reach actors willing to collaborate
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken
- 11 Ugandan organizations met from the 10th to the 13th of February to share good practices and reflect on the creation of an East African Local Actors network, starting with Ugandans for then expanding to other countries ;
- The Central Africa (A-GSAC) network managed to secure around 125 k€ to work in 2023 on the capacity buildings of its 8 members and to pursue advocacy, to the One forest Summit for example ;
- The A-GSAC, a burundese and a nigerian partner will participate to the symposium of the francophone primatological society in Dakar in October ;
- The collaboration with the African Prmatological Society (APS) is still on-going even though we didn’t manage to schedule a common e-meeting with all the organizations across Africa. However Dr Krief (co-wirter of the motion) and Dr Inza Koné (President of the APS) co-hosted an event on that topic during the One forest Summit ;
- A training in biomonitoring and network governance for the A-SAC members and the Ugandan actors in 2024 is under consideration ;
