Progress of CEM-CEESP Natural capital Task force to progress Resolutions #57 and #120 was carried out from November 2021 -June 2023 Participants included Nicholas Conner (CEM and CEESP Focal point for Resolution #120), Angela Andrade (Chair Commission on Ecosystem Management), Kristen Painemilla Walker (Chair Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy), Simone Maynard (Lead, CEM ecosystem Services Thematic Group), Juha Siikamäki (IUCN Chief Economist). A draft TORs for the Task Force was developed and reviewed by Angela Andrade and Kristen Painemilla Walker. A list of possible members of the Task Force was created. A number of meetings were held to progress the Task Force during the 2022 - 2023 period.
What challenges have you encountered in implementing this Resolution and what measures have you taken to overcome them?: 
1/ Funding for face-to-face meetings. 2/ Participants are time poor and unable to commit too much to the activity. The global survey described aims to extend engagement and gather information from a broader group of experts. A CEM Dialogue is aimed at starting the conversation.

Future ActionDescription
Convene stakeholders/NetworkingA CEM Dialogue is planned for October. The dialogue will open discussions about natural capital concepts and the use of environmental accounting.
Scientific/technical activitiesThe global survey to collect information on the use of environmental accounts will be released end of 2023. The survey will ask participants how they use the concept of natural capital, how accounts are being applied, and any challenges and opportunities they are experiencing implementing the concept and accounting methods.
