Description and results/achievements of activities:
In December 2021, as part of the 2nd World Environmental Law Congress, WCEL organized a regional event in Paris, hosted by the Jean Monnet Faculty of Paris-Saclay University. Based on the proceedings of that event, several authors contributed toward a book, published in 2023 by the IUCN Environmental Law Centre, entitled Measuring the Effectiveness of Environmental Law Through Legal Indicators and Quality Analyses (Jerome Fromageau, Ayman Cherkaoui, and Robert Coll, eds.)

The book contains studies of the use of indicators for European environmental law, international wetlands law, climate law, and Brazilian forest law, among other areas, as well as general commentary and examples of how to develop and use legal indicators. The book is available online at https://iucn.org/resources/file/measuring-effectiveness-environmental-law-through-legal-indicators-and-quality.
