As part of its capacity-building program for judges, the National School of the Judiciary and Court Officers (École Nationale de la Magistrature et des Greffes - ENMG) of Madagascar organized five (05) training sessions in 2024, funded by WWF, focusing on the following topics: Laws and procedures relating to wildlife trafficking and the fight against corruption in Madagascar. The first one took place from May 15 to 17, 2024 in Antananarivo for 33 magistrates, the second from May 22 to 24, 2024 in Toliara for 11 magistrates, the third from June 19 to 21, 2024 in Antsiranana with the participation of 13 magistrates; The forth training session: Combating transnational organized crime linked to wildlife traffickings" was held from July 01 to 05 in Antananarivo for 28 magistrates; and the fifth training "Combating money laundering linked to wildlife trafficking" was held from August 05 to 09, 2024 in Antananarivo for 32 magistrates. At the end of these five training sessions, 114 magistrates have been trained. The objective is to reinforce the enforcement of Madagascar's existing legislation to tackle wildlife crime. (Completed)
