Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
Lack of recognition for institutions; lack of connection with the Great Apes section of the SSG. Difficulties in organising face-to-face meetings and in mobilising funding for this.
Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
Like any other wildlife, great apes are facing significant challenges, and continued efforts are needed to save this species. There should be collaborative efforts to work on this species and disseminate progress, which is often a struggle, as evidenced in this reporting. Very few focal persons respond to requests for progress updates, and we often lack information about what has been achieved so far and what needs to be done to be precise. There needs to be coordinated efforts among resolution focal points and implementers.
Are these actions/activities planned?
No
