WCPA and the Commision on Environmental,
Economic, and Social Policy (CEESP) have established a joint Task Force to advance the equitable governance of protected and conserved areas. The Task Force, which will operate until the World Parks Congress in 2027, will help identify the barriers Indigenous peoples and local communities face in gaining more authority to manage, sustainably use, and conserve protected and conserved areas and territories, and develop recommendations for lowering these barriers. |
