Additional fund raising is needed to implement the Red List Strategic Plan, including dedicated proposals to support national Red List assessments, renewal and updating of the Red List Index and increasing the capacity (through training and additional resources).

The IUCN Red List @ 60 campaign was launched in the CBD CoP and raised the profile of the Red List amongst donors and the general public. Concerted efforts to raise collaborative funding across the Red List Partnership are underway. The Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool continued to generate income to support the sustainability of the IUCN Red List. The Red List Scientific Committee is considering ways of increasing the efficiency of certain Red List processes, including the use of new technologies.
