II. Implementation

Describe any challenges encountered in implementing this Resolution and the measures taken
Inter-institutional coordination and the logistics involved in implementing educational projects and rescue networks may present operational challenges, which are being addressed through collaborative planning and ongoing logistical support.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken
Active participation took place in the CSS Annual Review, where collaborative work with other groups sharing common conservation interests was promoted. In this context, two significant meetings were organized: one with an extended network of stakeholders interested in the creation of a marine protected area in the Macaronesia region, and another with the Cetacean Specialist Group (Cetacean SG) teams, during which actions related to cetacean conservation in the region were shared. Additionally, logistical support was provided for the acquisition of materials aimed at establishing a stranding rescue network for cetaceans, thereby strengthening emergency response capacities. These materials will be used in an itinerant educational project that will visit various islands across the archipelago.

Description
Thanks to the meeting held on 15 May 2024, efforts were made to highlight various conservation projects developed within the national territory. As part of this initiative, the AIZA network will be used as a platform to promote actions focused on the protection of threatened species. In addition, an itinerant educational project centered on the cetaceans of Macaronesia will be launched in the coming months, visiting different islands of the archipelago with educational materials and activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of their conservation.
