Challenges / lessons learned from Activity Reports
Challenges / lessons learned Description Action
Lack of awareness / engagement

Rejection of the CITES CoP20 peregrine falcon downlisting proposal highlighted challenges in advancing sustainable-use approaches where scientific uncertainties remain. Key lessons include the need for strong evidence, effective traceability systems to combat illegal trade, adaptive management frameworks that integrate conservation and sustainable use, and continued collaboration among governments, MEAs, experts, and sustainable-use stakeholders.
