Hunting trophies

Between the tenth and first edition of the Sportsman's Handbook thirty years have elapsed. According to the author the world has opened up and big changes have occured in respect to opportunities and localities for big-game shooting. Thus the text has been revised and expanded. 

This book is a guide for hunting different species and how to get and preserve the resulting trophies.

This document builds on existing IUCN policies by setting forth SSC guiding principles on the use of “trophy hunting”, as defined in Section II, as a tool for creating incentives for the conservation of species and their habitats and for the equitable sharing of the benefits of use of natural resources.
