This film highlights the different uses of wood in the UK and elsewhere; how forest destruction threatens our planet and how sustainable management can help. People need lands for crops and for cattle as well as forests. But reforestation requires that the the right tree be planted in the right place. The importance of the tropical forests in the water cycle is investigated as are medicinal plants which grow in the forest which can be used to treat cancer, malaria and possibly, AIDS.
