Water harvesting is an easy method to increase water for crops. Using this technique, stone-lined channels are built to direct the water. Building these channels helps protect the soil as well. Sometimes seeds are planted in the holes where the water is directed. To be successful, this technology must be introduced into the local area through popular participation. Water harvesting project have been successfully implemented in several Sub-Saharan countries.
