Convene stakeholders/NetworkingThe African Elephant Summit was held in Gaborone, Botswana from 2-4 December 2013. Delegates from 30 countries and 27 inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations participated in discussions around key urgent measures required to stem the growing illegal ivory trade and its impacts on elephant populations in Africa. A set of 14 urgent measures were adopted by consensus.

Reports on implementation of the Urgent Measures were provided by some countries at the Kasane Conference on Illegal Wildlife Trade
