Capacity-buildingSCBD has requested the involvement of GPAP and WCPA in the implementation of a series of CBD Capacity-building workshops to identify priority actions and a road-map for the effective implementation of Target 11.
Policy influencing/advocacyRecommendations resulting from the IUCN-WPC have been made available to the SCBD for further promotion with the Parties of the Convention. Also the findings from the Protected Planet Report 2014, which assess progress towards the implementation of Target 11, have been discussed with the SCBD to promote options for accelerating implementation of Target 11.
Scientific/technical activitiesDuring the IUCN-WPC all Streams proposed a number of technical recommendations on how to enhance the implementation of Target 11 based on best-practices around the world and results from new scientific studies such as those on the assessment of biodiversity outcomes of protected areas management. These recommendations have been widely distributed worldwide.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
- Technical and policy guidance provided to the SCBD with practical recommendations on how to accelerate implementation of Target 11.
- A number of commitments from governments were obtained during the IUCN-WPC to further advance implementation of Target 11.
- The Protected Planet Report 2014 summarize progress and remaining obstacle on the implementation of Target 11.

Future ActionDescription
Capacity-buildingCapacity building with governments and agencies will be an o-going activity to support the implementation of Target 11. This is done through the BIOPAMA Programme for ACP countries and through the implementation of the Strategic Framework for Capacity Development adopted during the IUCN-WPC.
