II. Implementation

Challenges / obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution
No obstacles were encountered
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken
On their first marine cruise (Towards the Gulf 1st) on Naseem Al-Basrah Vessel which extended from May 30th through June 7th, 2015, MSC researches, along with the German diving team from Freiberg University, have achieved several records. The most significant record was registering the presence of sea devil fish (Manta Ray) in Iraqi marine waters. It is expected to be a species of coral reef fish‘Manta alfredi’ which is different from the giant ocean devil fish ‘Manta birostris’. However, these two species are the largest of the ray family named Mobulida and the largest ray fish in the world.
