Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken:
On June 15th, 2015, Mr. Muaiyed Muhammed Al-Bahadli, from the Department of Environmental Chemistry, has had his doctoral debate for his dissertation entitled ‘Physical and Chemical Aspects of the Arabian Gulf’. The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Ali AZ. Douabul, General Director of the MSC and the debate took place in the College of Education, University of Basrah.

The researcher has studied the distribution of nutrients and chemical and physical factors that are relevant to the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea at various depths during the winter of 2006 and summer of 2001. In addition to nutrient salts, other physical and chemical factors such as salinity, dissolved oxygen, electric conductivity, temperature and water density were recorded. Many of the biotic elements were determined as well such as phytoplankton, zooplankton and chlorophyll, such factors that have a direct affect in the distribution of nutrient salts. In the research, the most significant mixing water masses in the Arab Gulf were identified.
