Other A letter highlighting the conservation importance of Poyang Lake was sent by the IUCN Director General to the Chinese Premier.

Following this, the IUCN China Country Representative also held a meeting with the Director of the Jiangxi Water Department and other officials from Jiangxi Province, and highlighted IUCN’s recommendations regarding the maintenance of natural habitats and ecological processes.
