Convene stakeholders/NetworkingConvening and capacity building on international water law and water allocation in 14 transboundary basins worldwide under the BRIDGE programme.
FundraisingIUCN support for WIO-Lab programme development for GEF, including environmental flows assessment for 5 East African rivers.
Policy influencing/advocacyMexico and WWF advocated for a Ramsar Convention Resolution on environmental water requirements IUCN advocacy and technical support for incorporation of sustainable water withdrawals into SDG 6.4 and wetland conservation and restoration in 6.6.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
Ramsar Convention adopted a Resolution on environmental water requirements at CoP 12, 2015, under lead of Mexico, supported by WWF.
Concept of sustainable water withdrawals incorporated into SDG 6.4 and wetland conservation and restoration in 6.6. Together these provide a trigger debate and action on policies for water allocation at national level.
WIO-Lab programme approved by the GEF, including environmental flows assessment for 5 East African rivers.
Request by Mozambique and Zimbabwe for IUCN support to integrate environmental flows into binational management agreement for the Pungwe river basin
