Scientific/technical activitiesUrban-rural linkages Urban ecosystems are highly managed and very often remote from where most of the ecosystem services are coming, i.e., rural ecosystems. However as both ecosystems are interdependent, there is a need to better understand the linkages and how such linkages may help enhance conservation of biodiversity in urban ecosystems. To this effect, the Thematic Group on Ecosystem Governance of the Commission on Ecosystem management has launched a call for case studies on rural-urban linkages and how ecosystem governance can be enhanced for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management. The link to this call is https://www.iucn.org/commissions/commission-ecosystem-management/our-work/cems-thematic-groups/ecosystem-governance.Note that the call is open to all members.
