Preparatory work underway to develop a reporting spreadsheet to be distributed to IUCN National Committees for monitoring progress against the Resolutions recommendations for strategic peatland plans.

Part of the resolution is seeking to deliver work which is outwith our capabilities or within other commissions due to amendments that were made during the motions process (E.g. Establish a global, legal definition of peatlands). It would be helpful to understand how each of the Commissions implicated in the final resolution text are responsible for monitoring and reporting.

Work in preparatory stages so no results yet – we will be reporting results through a summary report produced by the IUCN CEM Peatlands Group, supported by Newcastle University and the Global Peatlands Initiative.

Reporting spreadsheet to record progress on Countries strategic peatland plans to be circulated to IUCN National Committees. Summary document to be produced setting out examples of good practice in Peatland strategies.
