Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken:
The main achievement is the publication of a brochure about MPA standards and definitions. This include promotion of the Green List. Works are also conducted about the definition of "Other Effective management Measures (OECM)as mentioned in Aichi Target 11.
Regarding the coverage of MPAs, in 2108, it is close to 6 % of the oceans. It is probable that the target of 10 % will be reached in 2020 since many states are declaring large MPAS,but most of them will not be efficiently management.
The objective of 30% in 2023 still need a lot of work in term of awareness raising and technical / policy influence.
At the regional levels,IUCN Guidelines are shares and disseminates for supporting the declaration of new MPAs and their efficient management.
I 2017, IMPAC4 was organized by IUCM, WCPA and the Chilean government. It gathered around 1000 MPAs experts and managers during 5 days (La Serena 4 - 8 September) and a high level segment was held in Valparaiso (9 September).
