Education/Communication/Raising awareness
Describe the results/achievements of the activities
No major progress to report to date also due to exceptional circumstances in the Cave Invertebrate specialist group within SSC. We hereby also want to thank for the exceptional contribution of Tony Whitten over the many years and he will be dearly missed.
Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
No concerted efforts to ensure the implementation of the resolution has been initiated by IUCN secretariat in 2017. However individual members of IUCN continue to interact with major stakeholders such specific countries as well as aggregates and cement companies in the relevant areas.
Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
IUCN secretariat with support of the new leadership of the Cave specialist group and the major concerned IUCN members will take stock of the latest developments.
