Description and results/achievements of activities:
Two training workshops have been conducted in partnership with Global Sustainable Energy Solutions to certify Nauru Utilities Corporation and private electricians in Grid-Connected Solar PV design, installation, and operations. These training workshops included practical exercises resulting in an additional 11kW of solar PV capacity being installed on the Nauru electrical grid.

Poster/writing contest conducted at primary/secondary level in schools to broaden awareness of environmental impacts renewable energy/energy efficiency technology may have on the country. Prizes have been awarded to the most exemplary submissions at various grade levels.

Description and results/achievements of activities:
A Low Carbon Fund has been established in partnership with the Nauru Utilities Corporation, resulting in over 5 successful applicants receiving subsidies for replacing old appliances with high efficiency refrigerators, freezers, and washing machines. The fund has been populated with over US$90,000 in capital, and is currently under disbursement to qualified applicants.
