Capacity building
A training workshop has been conducted in partnership with Global Sustainable Energy Solutions to certify Tuvalu Electricity Corporation and private electricians in Grid-Connected Solar PV design, installation, and operations. This training workshop included practical exercises resulting in an additional 5kW of solar PV capacity being installed on the Tuvalu electrical grid.

A Low Carbon Fund has been established in partnership with the Development Bank of Tuvalu, resulting in over 9 successful applicants receiving subsidies for replacing old appliances with high efficiency refrigerators, freezers, and washing machines. The fund has been populated with over US$90,000 in capital, and is currently under disbursement to qualified applicants.

Policy influencing/advocacy
A grid stability study has been delivered by KEMA concerning the impact of increased renewable energy generation on the Funafuti grid, as well as the commensurate storage demands required to match the increased portion of the load being handled by renewable energy sources.
