Task Force Members have thus far given presentations about the Green List of Species at the following institutions and events with the aim of informing the scientific community about the Green List and inviting comments: University of Oxford Wildlife Conservation Research Unit; University of Copenhagen Centre for Macroecology Evolution and Climate; The Royal Society; Red List Technical Working Group; The Centre for Ecology and Hydrology; ZSL meeting "Safeguarding space for nature and securing our future: developing a post-2020 strategy"

Secured a NERC Knowledge Exchange Fellowship to fund a postdoc to work full-time on developing the Green List of Species (2017-2021), with additional discretionary funds of £40,000 for use by the Task Force (workshops, travel, publications, consultations).

Submitted language for IUCN's response to Notification 2018-063, in which the CBD Subsidiary Body on Implementation has requested views on the aspects of the scope and content of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework ("IUCN views on the preparation, scope and content of the Post-2020 global biodiversity framework"). The developing framework is suggested to be relevant to Target 12, by (1) indicating the number of prevented extinction (2) indicating avoided deteriorations in species' status (3) demonstrating the effects of conservation action vs the status quo.

Established scientific working groups to further refine specific aspects of the Green List of Species: (1) Targets and Benchmarks (2) Viability and Functionality (3) Counterfactuals and Scenarios (4) Spatial Units (5) Technical Issues (6) Communication and Nomenclature. Groups communicate and meet regularly to resolve their list of Key Issues, which were identified after the March workshop.

Publication of draft Green List of Species Framework in the journal Conservation Biology. The framework was the result of consultations between 2012-2018 and was published to invite comment from the wider scientific community.

Working with members of IUCN SSC Specialist groups to perform test assessments of species from a wide variety of taxa to test the Green List of Species Framework's generality and identify areas which need to be adjusted.

Workshop held in Oxford in March 2018 to bring together IUCN SSC Specialist Group Chairs to discuss the Green List of Species Framework and how to adapt it for different taxa and optimise user-friendliness.

To date (31 January 2018) 73 IUCN SSC Specialist Groups have engaged with the development of the Green List of Species. There are currently 90 species assessments in progress or completed, with comments being recorded and implemented as modifications to the protocol.
