Describe the results/achievements of the activities
The first Forum of Alboran has been organized by IUCN Med and IEO, with local partners, in Fuengirola (13 - 16 September 2018). This meeting convened about 200 participants to discuss conservation and sustainable use of the Alboran Sea and its ressources. Main outcome is a recognition of the value of the Alboran for as a support of the local livelihoods of the Northern coast of the Alboran Sea and the Sourthern coast as well.
Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
Lot of concrete actions remain to be implemented for reaching the goals of conservation of the Alboran, mainly dure to the intensive pressure from tourism in this area.
