IUCN and other organizations are part of the SNAPP Compensatory Conservation team (https://snappartnership.net/teams/compensatory-conservation/), further analyzing the role of Biodiversity Offsets. IUCN, along with The Biodiversity Consultancy, have generated an online database of national-level biodiversity offsets policy : https://portals.iucn.org/offsetpolicy/. This work has been presented at the Annual Conference of IAIA in Durban, South Africa, in 2018

Limited financial resources to dedicate Secretariat staff time to this work; a coordination cchallenge of supporting national-level policy engagement as this requires sustained presence and local-level capacity.
