Describe the results/achievements of the activities
1) The Task Force on Resolutions Retirement presented a list of 534 Resolutions and Recommendations to be moved to the archive at the 96th meeting of the IUCN Council in March 2019. This list was approved, and an accessible, online archive was deployed and launched prior to the opening of the online motion submission process for the World Conservation Congress 2020.
2) Retirement criteria were requested of Members proposing motions for World Conservation Congress 2020.
3) The IUCN Council proposed a motion for the World Conservation Congress 2020 inviting Members to endorse the list of Resolutions and Recommendation to be retired, and asks the DG and Council to continue work to review the implementation of active Resolutions and Recommendations, recommend to the next Members’ Assembly a list of Resolutions and Recommendations for archiving, undertake a policy review of all active Resolutions and Recommendations to assemble (or consolidate) Resolutions that deal with closely related issues, and consider how to undertake the ongoing review of Resolutions and Recommendations adopted in future Members’ Assemblies.
