Red List assessments for seven giraffe subspecies endorsed in November 2018 - two listed as Critically Endangered (Kordofan and Nubian), one as Endangered (Reticulated), two as Vulnerable (Thornicroft's and Rothschild's - the later downlisted from Endangered), one as Near threatened (West African - downlisted from Endangered) and one as Least Concern (Angolan).

Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
The implementation of the resolution is well advanced and many activities have been completeted. This is thanks to the active impolementation and work of the IUCN memmber and especially the member-assigned focal point for the resolution.

Development of first ever National Giraffe Conservation Startegies and Action Plans for countries and or regions
Finalise first Red List assessments for remaining two subspecies - Masai and South African giraffe
