Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken: 
A de facto whale sanctuary is currently in place in the South Atlantic since no nation is currently hunting whales in this area.
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome : 
With some members of the IWC leaving this opens the door for the resumption of whaling in Antarctic Waters. Putting in place further conservation measures would be one way to prevent killing whales in this area in the future.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution: 
Further interactions with the whaling nations in needed and the use of sound science to argue why whaling should not be done.
