SFI’s collaboration with NatureServe is developing and testing methodologies to quantify the contribution of SFI certified sustainably managed forests (now approximately 150 million ha) to biodiversity metrics and values. After completing pilot work of the methodology on three areas in the U.S., the project is now being tested on a cross-border area between Canada and the U.S. This work involves the participation of over a dozen different forest management entities, including both management companies and government agencies.
