II. Implementation
Activities carried out to implement this Resolution
Activity
Capacity-building
Description and results/achievements of activities:
Beijing Normal University team (National Forestry and Grassland Administration Amur Tiger and Amur Leopard Monitoring and Research Center) developed a comprehensive Natural Resources Monitoring System for Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park. By now, the National Park established a scientific research platform, a monitoring system, and a research base for management and development of the National Park. The Natural Resources Monitoring System uses serval modern technologies, combined 4G wireless transmission network, satellite remote sensing and UAV, wildlife video and ecological elements automatic sensor, vibration fiber and artificial intelligence identification, big data mining and cloud computing. The system builds an integrated monitoring network and obtains real-time biodiversity information including tigers and leopards. This is new “Internet + conservation” model which achieves the digitization of natural resources and intelligent management. The model will be replicated and promoted in other national parks and nature reserves in China by Chinese government.

Description and results/achievements of activities:
China and Russia cooperated in monitoring and research on tigers and leopards. At the early 2016, research teams from Beijing Normal University (Amur Tiger and Amur Leopard Monitoring and Research Center, National Forestry and Grass Administration) in China and Land of Leopard National Park in Russia implemented the integration of monitoring network between China and Russia. Through the monitoring data sharing from the two sides, for the first time that the precise data of populations dynamics for tigers and leopards in Sino-Russian trans-boundary area were revealed. This was also the first time ever that the global population estimation of critically endangered Amur leopard had been obtained. It provided a great example for transboundary collaborative research in wildlife and laid a solid scientific foundation for tiger and leopard conservation in Northeast Asia.

Activity
Education/Communication/Raising awareness
Description and results/achievements of activities:
The conservation of Amur tiger and Amur leopard in Northeast Asia had gained more attention than ever before. In China, national TV stations, media and websites paid more and more attention to the status of tigers and leopards. A large number of TV shows and documentations publicize the importance of wildlife conservation to the public. Relevant NGOs also cooperated with government to carry out publicity activities, such as the Global Tiger Day activities, advertise in Chinese subways for conservation for Amur tiger and Amur leopard. The latter activity reached about 1.8 million people. These activities could be very helpful to engage more people to join the conservation and publicity team, even as their career.

Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken
Through the joint efforts from China and Russia, including training, patrol, law enforcement action against abuse and illegal hunting, the populations of wildlife, like ungulates, have sustainable growths. The populations of Amur tiger and Amur leopard stay steady and their habitat expanded. The original and integrity of natural ecosystem have been improved.
