Describe the results/achievements of the activities
- Project RESCOM on NbS for costal ecosystem restoration in the Mediterranean. It will be submitted to FFEM for approval. The project will be implemented by the Mediterranean Consortium for Biodiversity (Tour du Valat Foundation, MedWet Initiative/RAMSAR Convention, Association International de la Forêt Méditerranéene, Initiative Petites Îles de la Méditerranée, MedPAN Association, Conservatoire du Littoral et UICN-Med). This project is part of the resolution implementation.
- Workshop on NbS case studies in the Mediterranean : this workshop was held on October 10th and count with around 50 participants, including Members and partners.
- Support for the adoption in RAMSAR COP, November 2022, of a resolution on wetlands and NbS (Foundation Tour du Valat, MedWet and IUCN-Med).

Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
So far the acceptation of the contents of the resolution has been very positive either from the public sector as well as from the private one. Nonetheless an important effort should be done on the field to test the validity of the conservation activities framed as NbS in the Mediterranean region. Lack of sound examples/case studies of NbS is a major obstacle from the time being to be widely used by public administration as well as by private companies.
Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
- Enlarge capacity building training for public and private actors.
- Promote field activities in order to demonstrate the effectiveness and the validity of NbS in the Mediterranean region.
- Increase communication tools on NbS in the region
- Work together with publics administration and private sector in order to incorporate the NbS concept into their business plans.
