Describe the results/achievements of the activities
- Community Resource Management Committees (CRMCs) established in 20 Communities 2 Community Resource Management Areas (CREMA) Established CREMA Constitution and Management plans developed
- Illegal farming and mining encroachment mapped and continuous monitoring activities happening to avoid expansion
- 40 hectares of illegally farmed areas replanted and enriched with native tree species to improve regeneration forest integrity
- Planted 20 000 trees in off-reserve areas
- Assessment for eco-tourism development in off-reserve areas of Atewa commissioned
- Illegal farming and mining encroachment mapped and continuous monitoring activities happening to avoid expansion

Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
Menace of politically backed community mining and/or galamsey destroying community lands and eroding community commitment to secure and manage their community lands sustainably
Poor surveillance and enforcement of no farming and mining policy in Atewa Forest which is a protected forest.
Insufficient finances to acquire logistics and planting stock as well as employ more hands (youth and women) to undertake an extensive restoration program

Develop Constitutions and Management plans for the 2 CREMAs
Enact and gazette District byelaws to give legal backing to CREMAs established
Long-term program to eradicate illegal farming and mining in the forest, by empowering Forestry Service Division staff to do regular patrol checks and destroy illegal farms and clump down on illegal mining
Continue to undertake enrichment planting in 30 hectares more of degraded forests areas mostly encroached farmers and illegal miningNeed to extend tourism assessment to include the Forest itself and also to drive investment for their development
