Fundraising
Description and results/achievements of activities:
The main goal of Kolmarden Foundation is to donate funds to projects that works for the survival and diversity of species and nature. This fundraising takes place all year round, for example through information and presentations towards our guests in the zoo, outreach via social media channels, by recycling plastic bottles and through selling stuffed animals and toys in the gift shops. The funds are then donated to conservation projects approved by the board. The board aims to have long collaborations with the projects, to make sure that they have a chance to make a difference and reach their goals. In exchange, Kolmarden Foundation wants the projects to send a report at least once a year, to make sure the funds are being used as agreed upon. The information given out to guests often high-lights the importance of biodiversity and the risk of mass extinction we are facing, but also give them hope that we can still turn this around.
