Education/Communication/Raising awareness
Description and results/achievements of activities:
SFI, through the Project Learning Tree (PLT) program, is advancing environmental education, forest literacy and career pathways using trees and forests as windows on the world. This is achieved partly through the development of key educational materials that support curriculum outcomes, through the training of educators to take learning outdoors and through the delivery of forest knowledge to increase forest literacy.

Describe any challenges encountered in implementing this Resolution and the measures taken
COVID-19 continued to create a challenge in the delivery of in-person events and workshops for educators, however early in the pandemic SFI created resources and virtual training to support our network in implementing PLT workshops.
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken
In 2021, PLT engaged close to 15,000 educators reaching an estimated 5 million students through PLT education resources and workshops across the US.

Capacity-building
Description
Increase delivery of professional development workshops for educators and non-formal educators to bring children and youth into nature and expose them to conservation. Grow partnerships and collaborations to increase number of workshops delivered to reach more children and youth to get them outdoors into nature.
