Description and results/achievements of activities:
(v) Protecting the Critically Endangered Ruppells’ griffon and the Endangered Egyptian vulture in Kwenia Valley.
Kwenia Valley Important Bird Area is home to one of the highest populations of Critically Endangered Ruppells’ griffon and the Endangered Egyptian vultures. The ongoing WCK project involves building vulture conservation knowledge, skills and interest amongst the children, construction of a vulture information centre, engaging the children in vulture watching and Eco walks, students playing the role of monitoring vulture poisoning cases and as vulture champions.

WCK has successfully implemented this citizen science project and created awareness on the vultures. The students are now guarding the vultures and we hope to see the numbers increase
