Scientific/technical activities
Describe the results/achievements of the activities
The Australian Government report as follows: The proposal to raise the Warragamba Dam wall is still under assessment. Once the assessment is complete, separate decisions will be required by the NSW Government and the Australian Government Minister for the Environment. The Australian Government Minister must receive the assessment report from the NSW Government and consider all relevant information on the proposal before making a decision on the project. The relevant information considered will include the matters raised in the 21 December 2021 IUCN Technical Review of the EIS for the project.

This is a World Heritage Site, and the IUCN Secretariat will continue to provide inputs and advice in that context, in coordination with UNESCO and the other advisory bodies within the World Heritage Convention.

The report is online as of end August and in this document - see whc.unesco.org - document for 45th World Heritage Committee (45COM) (WHC/23/45.COM/7B.Add), p. 143
