In 2022 the foundtion dedicated a week to the tigers, where extra enery was put down to inform the public about the situation of the Amur tigers and what actions the project that are supported is doing. Since far east Russia and Northeast Asia is located in very close approximity, the initiative to support the Amur tigers in Russia goes hand in hand with the initiative to protect the tigers in Asia. Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken:
In 2022 106 000 SEK (9137 EUR) was raised to the work for the Amur tigers in Far east Russia. Since far east Russia and Northeast Asia is located in very close approximity, the initiative to support the Amur tigers in Russia goes hand in hand with the initiative to protect the tigers in Asia. Sadly the funds could not be sent to the project due to the situation in Russia and Ukraine, but the raised money is saved and will be transferred as soon as possible. The project are conducting work on different aspects on conserving the Amur tiger, for example patrolling, destroying snares and traps and outreach to the public. Last year the project reported that there has been an increase in number of Amur tigers in the area of the project, from 103 in 2021 to 126 in 2022.
