Policy influencing/advocacyASOC continues to build on it policy and advocacy work outlined in the previous work. This includes CCAMLR and the Antarctic Treaty/ ASOC actively participated in the recent Helsinki Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting and will be in the CCAMLR Special meeting on MPAs in Chile the week of June 19. ASOC was co-sponsor of the Pew reception at Our Ocean Panama. ASOC has helped promote support for expansion of Southern OCean MPAs in G7 and G20 communiques. On-going
Policy influencing/advocacyASOC mnet with the Chair of WCPA whens she was in DC and discussed IUCN and Antarctic and the Southern Ocean including resolution 107. There has been active communications since then. ASOC has also engaged with the PPC Chair. ASOC provided comments on the last Council agenda on IUCN and Anrtarctica and the Southern ocean including resolution 107 and referencing the 2009 IUCN strategy. ASOC participated in the IUCN 107 task force call and has proved comments on the TOR. - None -
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
It is gratifying to see action on Resolution 107 with implementation in motion. Thanks to the WCPA, Chair, PPC Chair and the IUCN team. Its is also excellent to see IUCN staring to engage again in the Antarctic Treaty System including the Council decision to establish a PPC task force on Antarctica and the Southern Ocean to review the strategy of IUCN and develop a plan which is related to 107. IUCN is now sending a four person delegation to Chile for the CCAMLR SM on MPAs. The IUCN President and IUCN Patrons of Nature letter to the Chinese President on the meeting and issues was most welcome.
What challenges have you encountered in implementing this Resolution and what measures have you taken to overcome them?: 
capacity, resources and clear managment direction. Help from IUCN Council in particualr the WCPA Chair and PPC Chair for which they are to be thanksed. The suoerb IUCN matine team is now moving forward
