Scientific/technical activitiesSFI is engaging with the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) Foundation to quantify the role of sustainably managed forest landscapes in conserving species at risk, listed species, and maintaining aquatic and terrestrial communities. We will examine multiple species over an extended time horizon in a landscape dominated by SFI‑certified, private forests managed primarily for timber production. Target at-risk species that will benefit from this research include the Alabama map turtle, alligator snapping turtle, gopher tortoise, Red Hills salamander, and eastern diamondback rattlesnake.On-going
Please report on the result /achievement of the actions taken: 
The project total by November 2022 included 87 surveyed sites in southern Alabama and collected 360 eDNA samples. Final report is expected in 2025.
