WCC 2020 Res 023 - Activity Report

The II Follow-up Workshop of the National Action Plan to reduce the interaction of marine mammals with fisheries (PAN Mammals) was held. The meeting was organized by the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Nation and was attended by various actors related to fishing activities, including CeDePesca.
Over the course of two days, the different speakers together with the attendees were dedicated to reviewing and updating the actions of the Triennial Operational Plan (POT) 2017-2019, to develop the one for the period 2024-2026, as well as a new group of coordinators of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) was formed.
Progress on fishing techniques and selectivity devices was also reported. There were also presentations on the current state of conservation of marine mammals and their interaction with fisheries.
