Description and results/achievements of activities:
WCPA created a new Task Force on Protected Areas and One Health. Task Force aims: "...to integrate protected and conserved areas (PCAs) into One Health policy at all levels and to improve PCA management and policy by incorporating One Health themes. We will consider PCAs with all governance types, including those managed by local or Indigenous communities, and while we will focus mostly on infectious disease aspects of health, we will use the Quadripartite’s definition of One Health. We will elaborate a role for the WCPA and develop knowledge products that link PCAs and One Health in research, policy, and practice."

Build a conceptual map of existing One Health efforts related to protected areas, synthesizing existing knowledge and identifying important gaps in research, policy, and funding.

Synthesize knowledge from people who work in and near protected areas regarding the existing best-practices and information needs for integrating One Health into protected area management. This includes identifying the barriers and incentives for incorporating human health and well-being into protected area management.
