Description and results/achievements of activities:
WCPA reviewed and updated the strategy for IUCN’s
Programme and Policy on Antarctica Issues (especially
taking into consideration relevant IUCN resolutions, recent
policy developments including the GBF and IUCN’s
Programme of Work) for action now and that can act as an
input to the 2025-2029 intersessional Programme, and
developed a plan that outlines a sustainable means on
implementation including options for fundraising and
capacity development, aiming to elevate IUCN’s
engagement with and influence of relevant policy fora. WCPA also supported
the revision of the IUCN strategy for Antarctica and the
Southern Ocean.
