Policy influencing/advocacyWCPA seeks to inspire, inform, and enable people to protect Planet Ocean by promoting the establishment of a global, representative system of effectively managed and lasting networks of marine protected areas (MPAs) and OECMs within National Economic Exclusion Zone areas as well as in the High Seas and Areas Beyond National Jurisdictions. The Marine Thematic Group, which includes the Marine Mammal Protected Areas Task Force, the High Seas Specialist Group, as well as working groups dedicated to other marine issues such as connectivity, management effectiveness, spatial planning, and climate change, is providing guidance on key elements relevant to the global MPA agenda through assuring quality information, celebrating achievements, identifying priorities, and spurring action in order to help governments, agencies, organisations, and individuals plan, develop, and implement MPAs.On-going
