Describe the results/achievements of the actions taken:
Aligned with Motion 129, a communication campaign was developed together with the COICA communications team to promote the initiative "Amazon for life: let's protect 80% by 2025", which isdirectly related to Resolution 036. As part of the activities carried out in the Campaign Plan, the websitefor the launch of the countdown to 2025 was designed, graphic pieces were prepared and disseminatedto raise awareness about this initiative, promoting actions to declare the Amazon biome as aconservation priority.
From the IUCN SUR Secretariat, we do not have direct actions related to the implementation of WCC 2020 Res 036. However, through the "Voces" project implemented by the ORMACC-SUR Hub, actions are carried out in relation to the Amazon biome. In this context, the project benefits indigenous organizations in the Peruvian and Ecuadorian Amazon through local partners, IUCN members Ecoredd (Peru) and Ecociencia (Ecuador), as well as through a small grants mechanism (SGM).
What challenges/obstacles have been encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and how were they overcome :
To develop basic guidelines to build an Action Plan for the implementation of the Resolution; and to identify achieved and measurableresults; To find clear processes and mechanisms, to motivate the director of IUCN to implement everything that is requested inResolution 036.
From the IUCN SUR Secretariat, it is considered that a significant challenge is coordinating with the organizations proposing this resolution to carry out its implementation.
Briefly describe what future actions are needed for the implementation of this Resolution:
1. Prepare a proposal for a methodological route for the implementation of the Resolution with the proposing entities and others thatwish to adhere.
2. Set up a working group for the implementation of the resolution.
3. Enrich the methodological route proposed to theworking group, provide feedback.
4. Continue searching for mechanisms to encourage compliance with the provisions of the resolutioninvolving the General Director
The Secretariat is seeking coordination with the proposing members of the resolution to jointly analyze the possibilities of its implementation.
